This Privacy Policy explains how StackSimplify (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by Kalyan Reddy Daida, collects, uses, and protects information when you visit stacksimplify.com, docs.stacksimplify.com, terraformguru.com, the StackSimplify course websites on stacksimplify.com subdomains (for example machine-learning-end-to-end.stacksimplify.com and python-for-beginners.stacksimplify.com), or any associated websites (collectively, the “Sites”).

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Newsletter subscription: When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address through our email service provider, Beehiiv.
• Contact information: If you contact us directly, we may receive your name, email address, and message content.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Analytics data: We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymized usage data including pages visited, time on site, referral source, device type, and general geographic location. This data does not personally identify you.
• Course websites: The course websites ask for your consent first. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity load only after you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time with the “Change cookie settings” link in the footer. Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used, such as clicks, scrolling, and session replays, so we can improve the pages.
• Log data: Our hosting infrastructure (Amazon CloudFront and Amazon S3) may collect standard server log data including IP addresses, browser type, and requested URLs.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Deliver and improve our websites and course documentation
• Send newsletter emails (only if you explicitly subscribe)

4.1 Cookies We Use

• Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*): Used to distinguish unique visitors and track sessions. These cookies expire after 2 years and 24 hours respectively.
• Microsoft Clarity cookies (_clck, _clsk, CLID): Used on the course websites, only after you consent, to recognize returning visitors and to join page views into one session. _clck and CLID expire after 1 year, _clsk after 1 day.
• Consent choice: The course websites store your cookie choice in your browser’s local storage, so the banner does not ask again on every page.
• Beehiiv cookies: Set when you interact with the newsletter subscription form to track attribution.

4.2 Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

• Delete individual or all cookies
• Block cookies from specific or all sites
• Set preferences for first-party vs. third-party cookies

Disabling cookies may affect functionality, but our Sites remain fully usable without them.

• Analytics data: Google Analytics retains data according to our configured retention period (14 months).
• Newsletter data: Your email address is retained by Beehiiv as long as you remain subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.
• Server logs: CloudFront access logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and performance analysis.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
• Opt-out: Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the unsubscribe link
• Analytics opt-out: Use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent analytics tracking

7. Children's Privacy

Our Sites are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
